In Skala, there are several supermarkets, notably Solomos, AB Mart, and Galaxy.
Solomos on the main street sells a wide range of foodstuffs, including all your home comforts, i.e. baked beans! 
AB Mart is on the coast road to Poros, between Hotel Paspalis and Regina Dell Acqua Resort.
Galaxy, also on the main street, offers a deli counter (of sorts) with local cheeses and olives.
There are two bakeries in Skala, the pick being Nikos Bakery on the main street.
Solomos meat market in Poros is the local butcher and also offers a good deli selection.

For the best fresh meat try the butcher in Travliata on the road to Argostoli. They also sell a superb local Feta cheese.
Further on towards Argostoli AB Mart is a big supermarket featuring a large deli counter and in-store bakery.
Just up the road towards Argostoli you will find Kritikos & Lidl supermarkets. 
On the quayside in Argostoli there is a fish market offering fresh seafood.
In the early morning, you can buy direct from the fishermen’s boats moored on the quay and do some turtle watching at the same time.
There is also a good butcher on Sitemporon, the first street back from the seafront.

For lunch try the best traditional Kefalonian cuisine at Tzivras Restaurant 1933. A family-run Argostoli institution. Very popular with locals. The best Kefalonian meat pie anywhere. Located on Vandorou, a side street opposite the fish market. Open 10-5 pm only. Takeaway for dinner back at the villa!
